Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock, is a fifth-century palace and fortress rising above landscaped water gardens. The climb passes the gardens, frescoes and Lion Gate; plan for many steps, heat and a single-entry visit.
The Central Cultural Fund lists visiting hours daily from 07:00 to 17:00. A full Foreign Tourist ticket is USD 35; the half ticket for children aged 6–12 is USD 20. CCF’s price table last updated on 23 September 2026 showed LKR 11,725 and LKR 6,700 respectively at USD/LKR 335. Payment is made in LKR at the current exchange rate, which changes. The ticket allows one entry that day and includes Sigiriya Museum (open 08:00–17:00). CCF states that SAARC citizens receive a 50% discount; confirm eligibility and the final amount when booking. Online orders are collected at the site ticket counter.
